Tukriyatu history:
Brought
down to earthly reality in the winter of 2002, Tukriyatu
was initiated when Thyagi Ryan ( Brazil ) met Carlos
Aguilera ( Argentina ) in one of the hundreds busking
pitches of London underground. By that time the connection
with Noam Lederman ( Israel ) has already been established,
so when the spring came the seeds were ready to sprout
as Tukriyatu’s Eastern-Latin
Roots. Since then the band has been gigging regularly
in many venues around London (The Spitz , The Bedford,
The White Hart, Havana, Ahir and more..) building in
its own organic time a friendly and regular crowd.

Carlos
Aguilera – born in Argentina in
1974, at 14 dived fully into the 4 strings world
(Electric Bass), and with some friends started
his first Rock n’ Roll and Blues band. Living
in a folkloric rich place as Salta (North of Argentina)
was a major factor that contributed so much to
his musicality, and soon that young man would
already be touring and recording as a professional
musician all over Argentina .
When he was
23, he moved to the Capital ( Buenos Aires ),
where he tapped into unknown musical territories
as Jazz, Tango, and popular music, which inspired
himself to find his own sounds…
The New Millennium
also brought 2 more strings, as Carlos switched
to the 6-strings Bass. He then decided to leave
Argentina in search for new horizons; Mexico was
then the 1 st step of his adventure abroad, and
since his arrival in London in Aug./2002 has already
played with many distinct groups/styles touring
all over U.K. |
