THE LATEST CAMPAIGN UPDATE
The latest campaign update from the Jean Charles
de Menezes Family Campaign.
In the last month the family campaign has been attending meetings
and demonstrations asking individuals and organisations to
support their demands for justice. We continue to welcome
invitations to speak at schools/colleges/trade union branches/community
centres so please contact us if you would like a speaker.
On the 29th Oct the campaign joined other families who had
lost loved ones at the hands of the police at the annual United
Friends and Family Campaign procession and handed in a letter
to 10 Downing St demanding an end to shoot to kill.
There are 3 items in this update
1) CAMPAIGN MEETING 14th NOV
2) FUNDRAISER PARTY - 25th NOV
3) BRIEFING ON NEXT LEGAL STEPS (please email justice4jean@hotmail.co.uk
for a copy)
We are currently redesigning our website, this should be re-launched
and updated in the next month. We are also producing a comprehensive
campaign pack containing briefings and campaign material.
To get involved in the campaign please attend out next meeting.
CAMPAIGN
MEETING
Monday 14 November 2005
A reminder about our campaign organising meeting on Monday
14th November from 7-9pm at the Indian YMCA, 41 Fitzroy
Square, London W1T 6AQ. A map can be found HERE |
|
The
meeting will be a practical meeting focussing on the next
steps for the campaign.
There
will be a legal and campaign update followed by a discussion
around how we can practically put pressure on the IPCC as
they draw up their report and how we can take forward publicising
the campaign. We propose to split into sub groups to take
forward the campaigning work.
Please arrive promptly as they will be a lot to go through,
the campaign is short ofvolunteers so if there is anything
you can do please attend and pass on to interested parties
Thankyou for your continued support
Best wishes

PAST
EVENTS

PLEASE
NOTE: the first public meeting of the Jean Charles de Menezes
Family Campaign had to be moved from Conway Hall on 3rd Oct
due to pressing legal engagements for the family but it will
now be taking place on 10th October at the LSE.
As
you will be aware, Jean's parents and brother have travelled
thousands of miles to come to this country to find out the
truth about what happened to their son and to demand justice.
This is
an opportunity to show your solidarity and support to Jean's
parents and family. They need to know the people of London
and this country are with them
Please
forward this to all email lists you have and encourage your
family, friends and co-workers to attend.
I hope
you join us for this public meeting and bring messages of
support for the family.
best wishes
